Mike Vick was invited to the Steelers training camp to interview for a job as #2 QB.Then all hell broke out in the media in Pittsburgh, animal rights activists were drulling at the mouth,undercover Pittsburgh racist were screaming for a lynching, all because the man wants to work.Many Steelers fans have been mad as hell since,Super Bowl winning Coach Tombin was selected by the Rooney Family to be the third coach ever.Animal right activists still think he should be in prison or dead! Some People Just Don't Get It,NFL Players Get Your Act Together!

Every Morning for the past two weeks, I have awaken to hear on ESPN another Black NFL player being paraded before the media in handcuffs. What no White folk committing any crime in America? I'm willing to bet my last wooden nickel that Wall Street is ripe for picking.Why haven't the media focus their camera lens on the crazy dude in Northeastern Pennsylvania, running around killing and wounding State Patrolmen? I believe that racism has again lifted it's ugly head,when poor white folk are doing bad economily, the powers that be have to bring out their reserved scape goat Black  folk who don't get it!

As to why the political structure in Ferguson was allowed to exist? Why suddenly they need to register people to vote.My question what the hell have y'all been doing all the years you have been in county and state offices? You don't need no breaking news from CNN to tell you that Pokie and Ray_Ray are out in the neighborhood acting a fool,when their behind need to be in some kind of school.Which brings me to the reason for my post this morning,last night they open a new Casino in downtown Baltimore, there were enough people standing in line to shoot a modern day Tarzan movie. And of course the news media was there in force to record how the natives would act.It didn't take long for them to find their person to show this morning to the public acting a fool.The Fire Marshall and Police stop many people who were wrapped around the casino for blocks,from entering, simply because the place was packed to the gills.Then the media find Aunt pokie buried in the line to get into the casino, bitching and moaning because the line was what it was.Folks this is why we are broke as a gotdam Church Mouse,thinking we are going to go to the casino and strike it rich! Sampson could barely make out the red flashing lights coming up behind him,the 52 Chevy was in the ditch about a half mile from his home,the Rescue Squad had pull up after a call came in from the State Patrol.Billy Bob, Sampson his best friend since the Korean War,was working overtime applying bandages to Sampson wounds,Sampson after deciding to go back into that world of drugs and alcohol was again on the brink of death,Minnie and her children were running toward the accident tears streaming from their eyes,for they already knew that Sampson had gone back to that world.Clem the  State Patrolman also Billy Bob's brother stopped them before they could see the blood and guts,but prayers and God's grace were already in the works.All Minnie and the kids could see or hear were the lights and wail of the rescue truck speeding off towards Wilmington to the Colored hospital.

There were some mornings for Sampson the craving for the life of drugs and alcohol were mindbending,he would have to remind himself of the need to stay clean.
When the feeling became unbearable he knew he was in need of pray from his brother-in-law Rev.John.
But this time the devil won,Sampson hopped into the 52 chevy and was off to the races,damn the past was what  stayed on his mind,damn the new found freedom of being sober,damn the fact his family was now reasonably happy,he just wanted to get high!

Life in Crackling,NC hadn't changed that much since MLK and since the Civil Rights Moment had struck,truth be told most Black folk were cool without him,white folk control the the town and if you were trying to go along then you had no problem.But with remembering himself being close to death Sampson refuse to accept things as they use to be,he remembered the bullet wounds from the war,he remembered the drugs and alcohol,he  couldn't forget the sadness of not being the father that he is now.

It's been  almost a year since Sampson had taken charge of his life and therefore his family,he had planted 40 acres of tobacco and 10 acres  of corn,this was the first spring that he didn't have to go to the saving and loan for help,and his wife Minny was having their seventh child.

Economics 101,Nike,Kanye West

I just read a story in our local fish wrapper here,talking about the selling and hyping of the new designer sneaker by Nike for Kayne West for a whopping $245.00.
The story went on to talk about a few young brothers who had camped out at the local mall store for a week so they would be the first to purchase these new designer sneakers.
My first reaction was to say what the f----,where were their  parents,where were their auntie,uncle,sister,brother,any damn body to drag their little behinds home and pimp slap them!
I wear a size 17 EEEE tennis shoe and shopped on line for a week at amazon until I found a pair  of New Balance for under $50.00.
Now you see why we as a culture are not taken serious,by anyone including our own selves.

Waiting For Justice To Show Her Face

And we all know justice has a dark side that is seldom talked about,simply put some folks who become involved  with her finally find out that she has two sides to her.
One side perpetuates this image of fairness,the other side simply discard certain people with no sense of shame.
George Zimmerman is again back in jail where he should have been from the beginning,he lied to the court about his finances and was allowed to make bail for the execution of Trayvon Martin.
If someone of other economic class and race had been in the same circumstance Zimmerman found himself in bail would  have been denied,quick fast and in a hurry.
Skippy or Ray-Ray would still be on the phone in the cell block asking auntie,moma,sister,brother to get him out of jail.
The public defender probably would have been to see him to offer  a life sentence to get their case out of the system.
Richard Pryor said it right the first time back in the 1970's when you go down to the courthouse for justice,thats all you see just us,meaning everyone who can afford to work the system never see the inside of a jail cell.

Memorial Day-2012

So here we are celebrating  another holiday  here in the "HOOD"not knowing why we are truly celebrating.
In a very unscientific poll conducted among some of my co-workers and associates,most had not a clue of the origins or meaning of"Memorial Day".
Many will be cooking out with friends ,family and partying like it's 1999,I'm not a party pooper nor am I against having fun.
But let's party with a purpose,lets use this time together to reconnect with our families and friends and rebuild relationships.
Lets use this time to visit our ancestors who we seem to forget as soon as they are in the ground,lets reconnect with their spirit and be a stronger people!

Well the wheels of justice finally got to first base by arresting George Zimmerman,for the execution of Trayvon Martin.
What so many people in my community don't realize is this arrest wouldn't have occurred but for the large involvement of everyday  people.
Now is not time to go back asleep,drink some coffee and discover what other things you have missed!

So you may ask why am I writing about these three people together in a post?
Well personally I am sick and tired of these self appointed negro(need to grow) leaders popping up every time an egregious act is perpetrated on a person of color and after the tv cameras are gone,so are they!
Neither Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson Sr. have held a real job in their lives,as the old folks use to say,they have not hit a lick in their life.
It's well pass time we stop allowing these two professional pimps to manipulate our community,in Pittsburgh and every city and town in this country where people of color reside there lay buried in a cemetery a Trayvon Martin.
Parents it's time for you to get up off of your rusty dusties and take charge of the children you brought into this world,don't act like you are shocked and appalled at the behavior of white racist people in these United States,take charge of your children and guide them to a life style that affords them the opportunity to understand what they are dealing with in this society.
Congress can pass laws saying discrimination is unlawful until the roosters crow,it will not change the basic underlying fabric of this country's racist history and tendencies!

We all have our issues as human beings,but are my issues  any less egregious then my neighbor's or co-workers?
In my determination to remove the yoke from my own eye,when is it ok for me to point out someone else's short coming.

Baby Momma,Daddy Drama Even In Death!

As I caught a snippet or two of the coverage of Whitney Houston's home going service,I could not ignore the drama between Bobby Brown and the Houston family.
Bobby Brown is a waste for a human being,he showed no respect for his ex-wife or her family at their time of mourning.
Why was it necessary for him to be the center of attention,ok folks let's call this like it is,Bobby Brown has not earn the big piece of chicken,in other words he has not earned the title father,in my opinion he's just a sperm donor.
His' focus at this point in time should be on saving his daughter and his other children from a lifetime of dysfunction.
Bobby Brown should grow up quick fast and in a hurry and get real about this thing we call life.
He needs to take his rusty,dusty down to the Ford plant and get a real JOB,in my opinion he not a great entertainer,I wouldn't pay one wooden nickle to see him perform.
Now that I have gotten that off my chest,have great day out there folks!
