And Further More!

Thursday Evening around dinner time one player of a  local (Gateway High School)  High School Football team  on their way to Florida for a Nike Football Camp, met the grime reaper at an early age.
The team had stopped in Durham ,N.C. for a overnight visit to Duke University. You can find the story by going to www.post-gazette.com ,a senseless killing of a young man trying to be as productive as he knew how.
When are we going to do something  to stop our young Black Men from dying at such a early age!

I Got Something To Say!

Many may not like or how I say things they are strictly my personal opinions, but do keep in mine that I love Black people to almost a fault.
It has occured to me that we go out of our way not to tell our love ones and friends the truth on issues they we maybe dealing with.
As a consequence the issue or problem grows, folks we can't afford to be willy nilly about issues that affect our lives.
Earlier this week I had a doctors appointment with my new primary care doctor,he's about 30 years old if that old.
But he went right for my jugular on the issue of my smoking cigarettes, folks I'm taking his advice and will make a HONEST EFFORT to quit this DIRTY,NASTY,FOUL HABIT.
So in keeping it REAL if I'm going to complain about  Skippy and Ray-Ray and their crew hanging out on the corner, then I must also get my own house in order.
My habit is just as bad as the heroin user, except mine is a legal addiction and because it's legal we tend to not see the real issues of it.

My Mind At Ease

Man when you start to live a honest and honorable life,it's hard to be shady in any of your dealing.
I'm not up for Sainthood yet,but it sure is hard to do the wrong thing in any of my dealing.
I have been in this "storm" called life for too long and I'm tired of being rained on by decisons I have made.
My umbrella is up folks and nobody is going to rain on the last mile of my parade,I'm marching this last mile with my head high and shoulders broad.

I Got Something To Say!

It's no accident that so many young people of color in the United States are confused and running wild.
And Lord knows I'm being mild in that description of many of these young folk.
When I pull out my track record as a young person growing up,it's not a pretty picture.
I don't want the young people I encounter today to travel the road I did.
So I feel it's my God given responsibility to give them guidance when and  wherever possible.
Many Men like myself aren't ready or able to take on this role of responsibility. WHY?
I surmise it's one factor, laziness! Mental and physical laziness flows throughout our community.
And it's not all our fault that this disease of laziness exist,we have been trained to be lazy.
We are given everything in our lives today, from unemployment payments to food stamps.
Our love ones support and enable our laziness by giving us things, instead of teaching us how to get it our selves.
It's time for the excuses to stop and for people to take charge of their existence,it's clear to me that nobody but God is going to help me out of any situation.
But God only help those who help themselves,so it time we all get up from the couch of excuses and get to stepping in the right direction.
It won't be easy in the beginning, but hang in there and watch as it gets easier.
